Gregg Wiggans is an American Theatre Director.
Gregg is a Directing Associate at Transport Group Theater Company; under the Leadership of Jack Cummings III. A not-for-profit, off-Broadway theatre company in New York City that stages new works and re-imagines revivals by American writers, Transport Group has been honored with multiple Drama Desk, Drama League, Obie Awards. Select productions have been filmed for The New York Public Library’s Theater on Film and Tape Archive at Lincoln Center.
For over 6 seasons Gregg served as Artistic Associate, at the Two-Time Tony Award Winning National Playwrights Conference at The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT. During this time, Gregg participated in the development of more than 40 projects. In addition, Gregg served 2 seasons as the Directing Fellow at Kenyon Playwrights Conference at The Kenyon Institute & Review in Gambier, OH; providing critical response and investigation to over 60 playwrights; including Steven Dietz, Philip Dawkins, Claire Kiechel.
Gregg has worked with respected artist around the country including: Broadway as Assistant Director/Ockrent Directing Fellow on Promises, Promises alongside the legendary writer, Neil Simon and Director/Choreographer, Rob Ashford. Off Broadway credits include Kristin Chenoweth Benefit Concert: This One’s Personal, AfterOrlando at DR2. As Associate with the Transport Group: Queen Of The Mist, Normal, cul-de- sac, All The Way Home, Dark At The Top Of The Stair, Marcy In The Galaxy, Boys In The Band.
Gregg has also directed and developed work with StageWEST, ArtShare LA, Paper Mill Playhouse, Geva Theatre, Writers Theater of New Jersey, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, Williamstown Theater Festival, The Lark, The Kennedy Center, The Goodman, Actor’s Salon of D.C., Austin Script Works, Casa Manana, Austin Lyric Opera, Boston Playwrights Theater, and Arena Stage. Gregg is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received his MFA from Boston University. 2018 and 2016 National Directors Fellowship Finalist through the Kennedy Center and The National New Play Network and S.D.C.F., 2006 S.D.C.F. Mike Ockrent Directing Fellowship, David Knuess Fellowship, Lincoln Center’s Directors Lab. Gregg has been a guest artist and taught masterclasses at the National Theater Institute, Millsaps College, and Wagner College.
